How I spent the 2017 eclipse:

1_box-viewer
Building box viewer 1.0.
2_film-leader
Cutting off old overexposed film leader — two rolls had gone liquid (eew).

Severo and I look through multi-layers of the film leader.

It was partly cloudy at first, I was able to take some good photos.

By our 62% maximum totality, the sky had cleared so we only used the box viewers.
It took us a while to figure out the box plus glasses positioning.

  1. I watched it all on TV. I was quite a distance from the path of totality, but even so things got noticeably dimmer outside during the peak in my location. It was all pretty cool.
